Default What Are Your Kids Being Taught?

I started this part of the forum for good reason: I'm a parent; although, my kid (soon to be kids) aren't in school yet. But my kid will be walking out the door with her Barbie lunchbox before I know it.

I don't know what I'm going to be facing in the next few years, but I've already seen the children's books that are being written & sold. I used to think this was being pushed in high school, but apparently I was wrong...which is why I'd like to hear from other parents on the subject of human-caused global warming.

Feel free to sign up, share your stories, and we can all discuss it.....not only for my benefit, but for other parents who will visit this forum as well. Personally, I'd love to know what your kids are being taught, and most importantly, how you've chosen to handle it. Admittedly, I don't know how I will.

I need to know. We all need to know.

no kids here, but judging from the commercials and how 'pro green' everyone is out there, it wouldn't surprise me that kids today are being taught the benefits of going green, which we know is a complete and outright lie.

One thing they will be taught is DDT is a bad poison which causes bird egg shells to thin, however what they won't be taught is someone by the name of Rachel Carson instigated this lie against DDT and brought about its demise.

As I've mentioned before, BP oil has launched an aggressive campaign whereby they target schools and teach them green ideas, and they will fund the teacher and school if they are willing to go along with it. What they won't be taught is in today's world, reality is oil companies play a big role in the economy, and sinking the oil industry will mean a virtual collapse of the world's economy.

I don't get why BP is doing that, because on the surface it seems self-defeating. If they think they can just market themselves as an "energy company" rather than an "oil company," they're not going to dodge that bullet. The media isn't going to let them slide.

The books for preschoolers have really bothered me. They've crossed way over the line by targeting kids that young.

I agree, an oil company claiming to be green is rather ironic. However, I think they are trying to portray themselves as the 'corporate good guys' by claiming that they are green, or at the very least making it look like they care about the environment. It is like those that drive prius', they really aren't any greener than a well tuned car, but it makes people feel good about themselves that they think they are doing something good for the environment.

As for the enviro-whackos targetting young kids, I think it was you that posted links about that ? Doesn't surprise me, they are going to try their best to spread their lies and propaganda targetting any age group, that is the only way they can muffle the true lies they are spreading is by indoctrinating young kids.
