Default Carbon Dioxide Levels 'Off the Chart'

Carbon dioxide levels 'off the chart' | NEWS.com.au

Quote:
THE amount of two key greenhouse gases in Earth's atmosphere rose sharply in 2007, and carbon dioxide levels this year are literally off the chart, the US government reported today.

In its annual index of greenhouse gas emissions, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration found atmospheric carbon dioxide, the primary driver of global climate change, rose by 0.6 per cent, or 19 billion tonnes last year.
This is actually great news to me because it reinforces my personal belief that the relationship between CO2 and temperature is not as simple as people like Al Gore view it to be.

Here's the CO2 record:

And here you can reference the temperature records over the last 10 years from 4 different metrics presented over at Anthony Watt's blog.

Yes, it's only a 10 year period, but I fail to see any noticeable short-term direct relationship between CO2 and temperature on three out of four of these metrics.

Even some members of the media have recently reported that temperatures have either steadied or dropped in the last decade, only to follow it with an immediate rebuttal paragraph noting that short-term trends don't mean that global warming isn't happening.

Then there's the recent revelation that oceans haven't warmed in five years.

Short-term observations on my part? Yes, but I'm only disputing the Goreacle's scare tactics and false observations that he uses to promote his propaganda while fattening his wallet.

Negative Correlation Since 2002

The on again, off again nature of this correlation suggests that carbon dioxide is not the driving factor in our climate.
Have a look at the graphs for yourself.
