Default Earth Hour Greenwashing

Column - Age of green propaganda | Herald Sun Andrew Bolt Blog

Quote:
In a statement of protest last week, 235 Age journalists confirmed that their coverage of last month’s Earth Hour had been, in effect, propaganda.

“Reporters were pressured not to write ‘negative’ stories and story topics followed a schedule drafted by Earth Hour organisers,” they said.

That confession came after the ABC’s Media Watch released an embarrassing email sent by the green group WWF to Age editor-in-chief Andrew Jaspan under the creepy header Re: Any last requests?.

In it, WWF staffer Fiona Poletti replied she indeed had more requests, and told Jaspan to run three more puff pieces for Earth Hour, a stunt in which readers were told to help save the planet from global warming by turning off lights for an hour.
So from what I've gathered over the last few weeks, the mainstream media is more heavily influenced by environmental organizations that I previously imagined. First the BBC bows to an environmentalist and deletes entire paragraphs, and now we hear of another publication essentially acting as an advertising agency for the WWF. Anyone else would have had to drop thousands of dollars to buy ad space, but apparently environmental organizations are exempt and need only make a few phone calls.

that issue about enviro-freaks spreading their lies about global climate change and the media is something i've mentioned many times, and that is why alot of people out there feel the need to go green as the information provided to the media has all been biased towards the enviro-freaks.

And this doesn't surprise me at all, how many times have you read a magazine, newspaper, or watched the tv and been bombarded by the propaganda put forth by the enviro-freaks ? Even the news anchors are doing human interest stories that focus on people doing green things, and making them look like they are doing something good.

The mrs. read People often, and in People there is always a eco-friendly section, where they discuss how to go green. What a waste of paper and ink to publish that rubbish ! And BP, the commercial I see them brainwashing kids about going green absolutely makes me ill to my stomach. With that earth hour scam, all the news can report is how many people and businesses were going to participate in turning off lights.

And this brings me to my next point, you think news like this will ever reach the masses ? don't hold your breath. I've made this reference before, with environmentalists it is like a dictatorship, as they censor the information that is going out to the public, in essence 'brainwashing' the general public by hyping up and skewing facts to meet their own agenda, plus by not providing all the facts to the people.
