Default NASA Scientist Targets Houghton Mifflin

This is really starting to get on my nerves.

Hansen pressures textbook publisher Watts Up With That?

So it's become clear over the last few weeks that censorship is the next step.

"Let's target the kids' textbooks and have any debate about global warming removed. Threaten if necessary."

it is unfortunate that the enviro-freaks are a loud and vocal group. They've already targetted the media (ie. TV, movies, newspapers), but now textbooks ?? Kids will now grow up thinking this global climate change fad is the norm, and not realize there is 2 sides to the story.

Isn't like the greenie weenies ? They already know their facts are on non-solid ground to begin with, so they start targeting kids in hopes of indoctrinating them and eliminate the skeptics.

I would think that in this day and age, textbooks, newspapers, and the like would only report the facts and let the reader make their own judgment based on the facts.

Nope, it's all about ratings now for the press. They're more "drama agencies" than news agencies. Hell, they focus more on Brittney Spears & Anna Nicole Smith than news that actually matters.

The skeptics are becoming more of a threat. This is the only way environmentalists know how to respond.

You remember that I mentioned an ad I was going to work on? I'm doing it this weekend. I'm hell-bent on pissing these people off.

Despite feeling sick and tired about britney flashing her crotch or anna nicole's kid burped up her lunch from yesterday, I could easily put up with more celeb news than the lies coming from the environmentalists.

You know already britney is off her rocker, and you can always tune out news about danni lynn, but i find it hard and infuriating whenever i hear news about how someone is trying to be green.

Good luck on the ad AE !

Thanks. The first step is creating it. The 2nd step is finding out how much it's gonna cost to run it. I'd like to do one similar to that National Geographic banner ad that pops up on mine every once in a while.

About the other thing...you know what's funny, though? Brittney could come out and say she shaved her head to get a tattoo of the earth on her head in order to raise awareness about global warming, and the press would not only shield her from criticism, they'd label it as a "good career move." That's how crazy things have gotten.

better yet, if britney shaved her thing down there and tattoo-ed the earth down there on her it would grab even more attention.

but seriously, reflecting back on textbooks, sometimes I feel I'm the only one on campus that feels this green fad movement is a bunch of malarkey. On the University's homepage, they always tout what is going on around campus, and from time to time they will display items like clean energy, or carbon capture, or riding your bicycle to work. All those things to me are environmentally conscious choices, which as you know, I'm against.

Hey, if she wants to have matching carpet with those drapes, that might be newsworthy.

Wait 'til they find out you pulled your catalytic converter just to spite them. You'll be all over the front page.

Textbooks are already "regulated" to some extent. I remember during tax class, I asked the teacher why the problems at the end of the chapter always had people with weird names. "Xiong and her S Corp," or "Alejandro's AMT calculation." He responded that there had to be a certain % of ethnic names in the book in order to promote multiculturalism.

actually, I had asked 2 places about 'exhaust' work and both said that due to federal regulations they weren't allowed, but being gearheads, they knew what I was talking about so it has to be more than a coincidence that both places gave the name of the same muffler shop that would do such work.

sorry, but I welcome people from whereever they come from, but to promote multiculturalism by using foreign names in textbooks may cause more resentment than anything else. I don't see what is wrong with sticking with names like johnny or suzy.
