Default Indoctrination of Our Children

Letters from Sixth Grade Students Reveal Global Warming Indoctrination - by Maureen Martin - The Heartland Institute

Quote:
Twenty-five sixth graders teamed up to write eight letters to The Heartland Institute describing what they had been taught about global warming. Steria sent the letters to the institute in March.

The students said they learned about global warming by reading 10 articles about it. None of the articles, however, was about the science of global warming. Many described terrifying consequences that supposedly will result, convincing the students all living things--including all human beings--will be dead in 10 years.
If you don't know how I got involved in this issue to begin with, you can read it here:

theglobalwarmingskeptics.com - The Milk Carton

This is the core issue at hand for me, especially now that I am a parent. I'm not going to stand for this environmental indoctrination.

And as I've stated before, I'm sooooo looking forward to three years from now when my kid enters kindergarten. Why? They start this stuff from day one.

I'm going to be hell to deal with. Especially with anyone who tries to scare my kid into believing this nonsense at the levels described in this link I've posted to the Heartland Institute.

Read it for yourselves.

You think that's bad ? I keep seeing this damn commercial from BP Petroleum on TV about how they are providing money to schools to spready the word on being environmentally conscious. They have kids 'pleading' on the commercial to conserve energy and what not for their sake when they grow up.

Environment and society | BP

That commercial makes me sick. How dare they influence the minds of children by feeding them this garbage.

Every time I read/hear this kind of stuff, I about blow a gasket. I know writing BP won't do a damn bit of good, although I'm tempted to write that school teacher and give him a piece of my mind.

Or maybe I should take a picture of my 2-year-old, make an anti-AGW ad out of it appealing to children to ignore the hype and challenge their grade school teachers? That would seriously piss these people off.

What do you think? I could really have some fun with Photoshop doing this.

there is no bp gas stations in our city, but I do plan on boycotting their products.

And you're not the only one that blows a gasket when these propaganda shows up on tv/newspapers. Good to know that they provide one sided information and not provide facts on both sides of the fence so people can make an informed decision for themselves.

since we're discussing boycotting businesses, Westin hotels is on my list of hotels to boycott. I'd rather pay extra and stay in a shack than stay at the Westin. Reason ? They participated in earth hour, boasting how they would turn out the lights and have hot chocolate by candlelight. Yippee *sarcasm*

Eddie Bauer is on my list...not that I would buy any clothes there anymore, but I did back in college. Their CEO (or maybe prior CEO for all I know) was an eco-freak.

So did the Westin force people staying there to turn out the lights?

aaarrgh !!! the mrs. loves to shop at Eddie Bauer, not because the ceo is an enviro-freak but she likes the style of clothing there.

No, the westin didn't force people to turn out the lights, but they turned off all 'non essential' lights, like lights to the lobby. I was against earth hour to begin with and any business that announced they would be joining in is not getting my business (if I can help it).
