Default Addressing Greenwashing - One Method

Enter The Green Zone - Yarmouth, MA - The Register

See the comments below the article & their initial response in calling me a jerk for asking questions.

Lesson? If you're armed with the facts, you can debate the pants off of these people. I've made it known that I take it personal seeing innocent kids being greenwashed into this little green political movement.

I've made it a habit that any time I see an article like this pop up on the Google newswire to leave a comment. I did it a few weeks ago for a University newspaper in which the students did their own study on global warming's relationship to hurricanes & concluded (accurately) that there was no relationship. I congratulated them.

Some other student responded, and the debate was on....and then it ended quite abruptly when I started throwing facts in his face.

Look for google news and pick your poison. I usually just enter "global warming."

But there's a trend developing...

Great stuff, Mac. Question....did you have to register to post that? I didn't. Now it asks for a user name & password.

Seems that in recent weeks, a lot of these sites that pop up on Google news are requiring registration instead of the usual post-if-you-want template. Probably a result of spammers.

Or possibly "jerks" like me.

I had to sign up first before i could make a comment.

but you're right, that guy's response on that website is typical of environmentalist's "they are doing good and they are doing what everyone else is doing", start throwing facts into the faces of environmentalists and they shut up right away, or start calling names like a 7 year old kid. either way, getting the facts out makes it very easy to argue against the environmentalists.
