Default McCain Takes 5-Point Lead

USNews.com: Political Bulletin: Wednesday, August 20, 2008

Quote:
New polling data just released by Zogby International this morning shows Sen. John McCain jumping to a 5 point lead over Sen. Barack Obama nationally. The poll of 1,089 likely voters taken August 14-16 shows McCain leading Obama 46%-41%; a similar poll last month showed Obama leading McCain 47%-40%.
As I mentioned before, this will be McCain's to lose, and the polls are beginning to show it. As long as he doesn't blow it, this isn't going to be much of a contest.

Not that I'm a McCain fan. But at least he has a decent energy plan, outside of a useless carbon-trading scheme.

Obama will get a boost when he announces his VP, and after the convention as well; but if he loses the lead in polls after that, he's pretty much screwed. Running ads comparing McCain to Bush, 4 more years of the same, etc....aren't going to work.
