This one really shits me right off
I have just heard news of a new ATROCITY being suggested in Britain - Carbon Emission Ration Cards Every adult in Britain should be forced to carry 'carbon ration cards', say MPs | Mail Online everyone will have ration cards which will be used for things which require the emission of c02 - i.e. fuel, plane trips, food...etc WHAT a load of crap, not only is this invasive, inhumane and a lot of other things, but while encompassing a greater scope it is also like going BACK to the WAR!...only this time without any kind of sane reason

I got wind of this last week. Like this article, the scheme was labeled as "ahead of its time." I think it's about 50 years behind its time, myself -- like out of the Soviet era of mass oppression.
Back in the 70s here in America, people were burning their draft cards. If this ever came to fruition, I'd be burning my carbon card. Of course, I'd probably be charged 2.4 kg for burning the card, on top of whatever penalties they would impose, but whatever. They'd have to put me under before I'd ever participate.

I just hope that the citizens in the UK realize what this will do to each and every person in that country, and the ramifications it could have worldwide.
If the gov't deems it successful, other countries may follow suit. Personally, I think it is regressing back in time. And what the environmentalists have still yet to answer is : how will they track each person's co2 output ? I find that is such a gray area, when a person is a work for example on the computer, will that person be responsible for co2 output or the employer ? The idiotic ideas coming from the environmentalists are getting way out of hand, and these ideas must be challenged before society as we know it decays. |

This really borders on Environmentalist Fascism.
Normally I would be loathe to ruin the word 'fascism' as I believe fascism meant to benefit the people in reasonable well-meaning doses is beneficial (quite an odd philosophy many may think, but I know what i mean :P). It will indeed be a sad day when Environmentalism in its many forms takes up the mantle of fascist governing.

You mention how we're "outnumbered," and that may be true for now. But there's going to come a time when people get that seed of doubt on their own, and it's usually when their wallet starts shrinking and they don't understand why -- until they start putting two & two together. A lot of articles I've cited here recently reveal that the Brits are getting sick of hearing about global warming, and the polls overwhelmingly reveal they aren't willing to pay a penny more to combat it. This may be a sign of what is to come: globeandmail.com: Fuel protests herald grim times for European green policy Quote:

For example, environmentalists say obese people are contributing to global warming. Well, the nazis singled out the jews as 'evil' (which we know was false); true that a single race/religion isn't singled out by the environmentalists, but my argument is if the environmentalists are already singling out a group of people (obese people), what is stopping them from making global warming links to a single race or religion ? Again, during WW2 the Nazis made up 'facts' that made the jews look bad. Note that I use the term 'facts' loosely. If you look at what the environmentalists are doing, they are using the same tactics to push their agenda forward. By only stating 'facts' that support their argument, it'll make the environmentalists look like they are the saviours of the earth. However, the links/articles/facts posted by AE state the opposite. I believe the facts found here on this website are the true scientific facts that the environmentalists are not stating to the public. Just like how the Nazis stated how 'evil' the jews are but at the same time hiding the real facts about the jewish people (that they intend no harm to anyone, they just want to live peacefully). If people are only presented with only one side of the argument, they will start believing in that. |

Well a swing may be occurring, but it seems that in Australia the fad is only beginning. Just like with everthing else in history, we are gonna be bit behind. But once thing start to infringe upon our values things may start to conflict - they're already taking the piss out of our steak which is too far already, it won't be long before they take the piss out of our piss, then Australia will be up in arms :P
--------------------------- Nazi environmentalists making obese their holocaust victims eh? what are they gonna do, classify an obese person as anyone who has even one obese grandparent in their lineage or closer - then round 'em up?

As for nazi environmentalists, short of rounding people up, I think they are publicly shamming and humiliating obese people, by stating that they contribute to global warming. That is hypocritical in my books. If a politician went on to say all fat people contribute to global warming i'm sure his/her career would be over. But since the environmentalists say it, then it is ok. I can see this now; pretty soon they will say "people who are diseased" cause global warming, because they need to go to the hospital for treatment often and because of the resources used to keep that person alive it contributes to global warming. |

As you say 'because the environmentalists say it'...because in the past when environmentalist movement was simply plant a tree, help an animal and recycle your apaper & plastic, they were still extremists but there was nothing inherently wrong with wat they did, thus they gained the mantle of 'good & responsible' because these things the common people couldn't be bothered doing, now they use their sway of being subconsciously 'good & responsible' against us

I agree, I wouldn't have said much against the environmentalists if they did their thing and didn't push their ideals onto everyone else.
However, I've noticed over time that these environmentalists have used lies and fears to push their agenda forward, and that is something I don't agree with. If they had put forth both sides of the argument (for example, drilling for oil, they could have said yes drilling for oil is detrimental to the environment but that oil used will help the economy); then people can make their own decisions as to whether they treasure their financial success or the environment. They way the green hippies put it " save the environment and screw your jobs and your family's well being". |
