Default Up & Down the Search Engine Rankings

Good news & bad news. I'll start with the bad.

Search engine optimization bears a striking resemblance to scientific research on global warming:

It is painfully slow; and just when you think you've gained a stroke, you suffer a major setback.

Having added a rather lengthy essay to the front page for better keyword optimization and description of this entire site's content (and my own point of view), it seems that the major search engines interpreted this addition as a website "overhaul" rather than a "tune-up." As a result, I was bumped down about 17 pages on the major search engines to the pages of virtual nonexistence.

In other words, someone drew the "Sorry" card and sent my home page back to square one.

It's only short-term. Eventually the pieces will be reassembled and this site will be ahead of where it was previously. But as Tom Petty once said, the waiting is the hardest part.

But here's the goodnews: this forum stands on its own separate from the home page as far as the search engines are concerned.

So while the home page has pretty much disappeared until all the other websites pointing here are re-indexed and it's put back in its new proper place, I am pleased to report that this forum was FINALLY re-indexed -- for the first time since it was brought online several months ago -- by Google last week. Over time, it will be indexed more often.

The end result is that this forum was bumped up from pages unknown (not even in the top 50 pages of Google) to page FIVE (with the search terms I targeted), which is a significant gain. And that stems directly from the conversations & debates all of us have had here and their overall relevance.

So just a quick thank-you from myself to all of our participants here on the forum. This is a huge gain on the major search engines from out of nowhere. While we continue to debate & share our knowledge about energy, politics, science, the media, the global warming hoax, and everything else in between, our daily discussions are making this site more relevant. There is much to be gained here for anyone who stumbles upon this site.

And as for you forum lurkers....and I see you in the stats....feel free to register & contribute.

That is good news AE !

thanks again for setting this website up, without it skeptics like us would be wandering around aimlessly wondering if there were any others that shared the same views; thanks to your efforts we can voice our concern in regards to this environmental hoax/fad.
