New Forum Features

Over the weekend, I installed a few new features on the forum.

SEO Tool - For Google/Yahoo/MSN/Ask.com, the forum should be indexed daily by these major search engines.

Reputation - Each poster has the ability to add to/subtract from another's reputation within each post. Within the control panel, you previously could view any reputation you previously received. You can now also view any that you've given out.

Note that you cannot continuously apply reputation to the same user, as it has to be spread around. So until we get some more users, you'll likely only be able to rep a poster once for now.

Carbon credits - You may have noticed under your username a new field called "credits." Each poster receives carbon credits for their participation here. Different credit amounts are rewarded for different things.

For example, you receive credits for each new thread you post. If that thread generates a lot of responses, you receive further credits. You also receive credits for any gains in reputation. However, you can also lose credits if you receive negative reputation.

Within your control panel on the left side, there is a new menu for you to do various things with your credits, such as transfer it to an interest-bearing savings account. Or you can donate credits to other users. You may also donate within threads.

I have future plans for this feature, so for now, just maximize your credits.
